What is the AI Electric Shock Filter With Your Pet?
The AI electric shock filter is the slapstick pet video that took over TikTok as the Me and Pet AI trend. Upload a photo of yourself and one of your dog or cat, and you get a short phone video at a home workbench: you sit next to your pet, holding two loose wires, and slowly bring the ends together while your pet leans in to watch. A close-up of the red and the blue wire touching, a cartoon zap, a puff of smoke, and then the reveal: you and your pet staring into the camera with sooty faces and your hair and fur standing straight up. A frozen beat, and you both crack up.
The trend is a CapCut AI template that launched in late August 2026. On 25 August a woman posted hers with her Yorkshire terrier ("con mi Daisy") and it passed 1.3 million views; two hours later a comedy creator posted his version with his dog and reached 1.6 million, which is why many people call it the dog electric shock trend. A Spanish how-to passed 1 million views three days later, and new template posts pushed it back into feeds in mid-October.
It is pure cartoon comedy: nobody gets hurt, the zap is a spark and a puff, and the joke is the matching hairdos. The template runs in two steps: an image model puts you and your pet at the workbench, then a video model plays the zap and the reveal with sound. The clip is 8 seconds, vertical and watermark-free. The trend videos on this page are credited to their creators; the poster image is AI-generated.
How the joke is built
Every viral clip of the trend has the same three beats: the calm setup at the bench, the close-up of the two wires touching, and the reveal of two sooty faces with hair standing up. The template keeps that rhythm, so the result reads instantly as the trend.
The first step builds the opening shot from your two photos, so your face, your clothes and your pet's breed and markings stay the same through the whole clip.
Cartoon comedy, not real danger
The zap is a cartoon spark, the smoke is a cartoon puff, and both of you are fine and laughing at the end. It is a gag in the tradition of old slapstick cartoons. Please do not try anything with real wires at home, and label the clip as AI when you post it.
