What format conversions are supported?

Output can be JPG (JPEG), PNG or WebP. Input can be any image your browser can open, including JPG, PNG, WebP and GIF (first frame). HEIC opens only in browsers that support it, such as Safari.

Does conversion affect quality?

JPG and WebP output are lossy; use the quality slider (default 92%) to balance size and detail. PNG output is lossless. Transparent areas become white when you convert to JPG, because JPG has no transparency.

When should I use which format?

JPG for photos where small size matters. PNG for transparency, text, screenshots and sharp edges. WebP for the best size-to-quality balance; every modern browser supports it.
